We stopped here one night and our meal was excellent. Cool little place. We've been meaning to go back, it's a little out of our way being in Kingsport but worth the drive.

Would recommend you get out to this place and give it a try. Not many non chain places in the Kingsport area to go and even fewer that are good. Backwoods had great hotdogs, fried banana peppers, and burgers. Great having Backwoods in this area as a choice to go eat or grab a beer.

I am in the middle of nowhere working, and I actually get a lunch break today. I stumble onto this hole in the wall that I'm not even sure is open. I walk in, and it's a nice restaurant. The staff was super friendly. I had the shiner burger with Mac n cheese. Top notch! Seriously!!! This is a hidden gem! Will be back soon!!

We showed up at opening and the place wasn't prepared for opening. Seats still on tables and I don't think the deep fryers were ready either. It's a nice looking restaurant inside. Ordered buffalo wings, deep fried pickles, a chili burger and fries. Wings were raw and pickles lost flavor in the fry. I believe the menu said I would get cheddar cheese on the burger and it came out with cheese sauce but the fries were good and plentiful. Wife ordered the philly, they used shredded mozzarella instead of the classic provolone and it wasn't even melted, just kinda sprinkled on top. She said it was disappointing as far as flavor goes and it was overpriced. Waitress didn't know the menu but kept our cups full. Young staff, young restaurant, overpriced. Hopefully it gets better.

Everything we have had here is great. Their gluten free buns are also delicious! The waitress remembers our drink orders and we have only eaten there about 4 times. She is awesome and so personable. They treat you like family. Definitely try the pickle fries!
